Four Community Partners Serve BA Students
Edmond Family Counseling sends us four therapists each week to facilitate counseling groups for students. The students choose from the following topics: Coping with Stress, Team-building, Managing relationships and Support.
LifeWize, is a volunteer lead, educational program that strives to empower middle school and high school students with character-based lessons including healthy decision making, goal setting, life skills and sexual risk avoidance education.
A Chance to Change in OKC sends us a therapist to facilitate a prevention/intervention addiction program. In this group students discuss research-based methods of treating addiction and learn healthy alternatives to using illicit drugs.
Oklahoma City County Health Department offers Making Proud Choices : A Safer Sex Approach to STDs, Teen Pregnancy, and HIV prevention. The program aims to provide adolescents with the knowledge, confidence and skills necessary to reduce their risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), HIV and pregnancy by abstaining from sex or using condoms if they choose to have sex. The curriculum consists of eight modules delivered by trained facilitators. (Parental permission slips required to participate)
