English II, III, IV, Projects and Reading Improvement

I can hardly believe I have been teaching for almost four decades, but I can truly say that I have enjoyed them all. During those years, I have taught courses ranging from seventh grade through high school. I was also an adjunct professor of English at UCO and OCCC for 15 years. In addition to Oklahoma, I spent many years teaching in Missouri and Kansas. In my spare time, I like spending time with my family, singing, reading, and writing. I am currently working on a book of poetry.

I have been a National Board Certified Teacher since 2002 and earned my re-certification three years ago. Prior to coming to Boulevard Academy, I taught AP English Literature and English IV at Guthrie High School and was selected as the Guthrie Teacher of the Year three times. I was a finalist for Oklahoma Teacher of the Year in 1999.

I love working at Boulevard Academy because I enjoy the small teacher/student ratio. It allows educators the opportunity to get to know our students well and offer them individual attention. Boulevard truly is a family.

Over the years, I have considered education a partnership. The student, the teacher, the administration, and a student’s home support system are all integral parts of this partnership. Together, we can make any student successful.
